Student Protocols
1. The student’s parent or guardian will report the positive home or PCR test result to the school nurse or designee. In accordance with 25 Texas Admin. Code § 97.7 COVID-19 is a disease requiring exclusion from school.
2. As the student is COVID-19 positive, the school nurse will inform the parent or guardian that the student may not return to school until they have been fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication. Fever is a temperature of 100° Fahrenheit / 37.8° Celsius or higher.
3. The student may return to campus when the student has been fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication.
4. Vaccinated siblings of students who test positive may come to school, as long as they are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-suppressing medications, have no symptoms.
5. We recommend a mask for anyone who may be exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, flu, or the common cold, or who were in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID.
